Celebrities Born in 1988

Though still young, they're already breaking into the world of celebrity. There seems to have been an abundance of "stars" that were born in 1988: musicians, actors, and children of celebrities trying to make names for themselves. Here's a list of the people I've found, but new stars emerge all the time. Please comment if you know of any more!

Haley Bennett, born Haley Loraine Keeling, is an American singer and actress who first starred in Music and Lyrics (2007), in which she sang several of the songs for the soundtrack. She has been in two other Warner Brothers movies since then: College and The Haunting of Molly Hartley (both 2008). She was born on January 8, 1988 in Naples, Florida.

Nicole Margaret "Nikki" Blonsky is an American singer and actress. She was received a Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in the musical-turned-movie Hairspray (2007), where she performed alongside Queen Latifah and John Travolta, among others. She was born on November 9, 1988 in Great Neck, New York.

Emily Jane Browning is an Australian actress who first starred in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004). She went on to star in Sucker Punch (2011) as Babydoll and has won numerous awards for her acting. She was born on December 7, 1988 in Melbourne, Australia.

Michael Austin Cera is a Canadian-born actor first known for his comedic timing in the television series Arrested Development (2003-2006) and movies Superbad and Juno (both 2007). He has gone on to star in many other major motion pictures, including Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist (2008), Year One (2009), and Youth in Revolt (2010). He has been known to play instruments and sing in movies occasionally, as well. He was born on June 1, 1988 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

William Wendell "Billy" Gilman III is an American singer. He released his first single "One Voice" at the age of 12 and has since put out a handful of country albums. He has been nominated for a Grammy Award for his singing and was the youngest singer to reach the #1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. He was born on May 24, 1988 in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint is a British actor who grew up in the public eye as Ron Weasley in the popular Harry Potter (2001-2012) movie series. Originally known as a sidekick, he has since starred in two full-length films as the leading man: Driving Lessons (2006) and Cherrybomb (2009).  He has won a handful of awards for several Harry Potter movies for his portrayal of Harry Potter's best friend.  He was born on August 24, 1988 in Harlow, Essex, England.

Brooke Ellen Bollea, better known as Brooke Hogan, is an American television personality turned recording artist and the daughter of professional wrestler Terry "Hulk" Hogan.  America first came to know her in her family's reality television show Hogan Knows Best (2005-2007).  After the cancellation of that show, she continued with her own spinoff called Brooke Knows Best (2008-2010).  She released her first album Undiscovered in 2006 and has continued to make music since then.  She was born on May 5, 1988 in Tampa, Florida.

Vanessa Ann Hudgens is an American singer and actress who received most of her fame from her lead role as Gabriella Montez opposite Zac Effron in High School Musical (2006) and High School Musical 2 (2007). Her first major motion picture role was in Thirteen (2003), in which she played the friend of the main character, played by Evan Rachel Wood.  She has also appeared in several Disney television shows such as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2006). She was born on December 14, 1988 in Salinas, California.

Andrew James Lawrence is an American actor who starred in the television series Brotherly Love (1995-1997) with his two older brothers: Joey Lawrence and Matthew Lawrence.  He did the voice of main character T.J. Detweiler on the animated Disney show Recess (1998-2001) and has since played various roles on many different shows, including Bones (2008) and United States of Tara (2009).  He was born on January 12, 1988 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Devon Michael Murray is the Irish actor who played Seamus Finnigan in the Harry Potter movie series (2001-2012).  He also played Malachy in the movie version of Angela's Ashes (1999).  He was born October 28, 1988 in County Kildare, Ireland.

Haley Joel Osment is an American actor who gained his fame from his Oscar-nominated performance as Cole Sear in The Sixth Sense (1999).  He landed lead roles in several later movies, including Pay It Forward (2000) and A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), both of which landed him awards for his performances as such a young actor.  He was born on April 10, 1988 in Los Angeles, California.

Tania Raymonde is an American actress. She has appeared on many television series but is most famous for her recurring roles on Malcolm in the Middle (2000-2003) and Lost (2006-2010). She has also appeared in individual episodes of popular television shows such as CSI: NY (2008) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2009). She was born on March 22, 1988 in Los Angeles, California.

Nicole Houston "Nikki" Reed is an American actress. Her most famous role was that of experimental teen Evie Zamora in Thirteen (2000) opposite Evan Rachel Wood. She also co-wrote that movie, based partially on her own experience, with director Catherine Hardwicke. She has also appeared in the Twilight Saga (2009-2012) as Rosalie Hale and on The O.C. (2006) in a recurring role. She was born on May 17, 1988 in West Los Angeles, California.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty -- known as Rihanna -- is a Barbadian R&B singer with multiple number-one hits worldwide. Her first album Music of the Sun (2005) was released on Def Jam Recordings. She has since released a handful of other albums and consistently tops charts all over the world. She is also a philanthropist, performing many charity concert events and having created Believe Foundation in 2006 to assist children who are terminally ill. She was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados.

Brenda Song is an American actress. Her first work was as a child model, but she really gained recognition with her recurring role as London Tipton on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005-2008), which she also co-produced.  She has starred in several Disney made-for-TV movies and landed her first major motion picture role in The Social Network (2010). She was born on March 27, 1988 in Carmichael, California.

Alexa Ellesse Vega is an American actress. Her most well-known role was that of Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids series (2001-2003), for which she did most of her own stunts. She also starred in Twister (1996) as Jo Harding, age 5.  She is also a singer; she has released several songs in tandem with the Spy Kids series and later starred in Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) as Shilo Wallace. She was born on August 27, 1988 in Miami, Florida.

Hayley Nichole Williams is an American singer/songwriter. She is the lead vocalist for the popular band Paramore. The band was formed with her high school friends in Tennessee in 2004 and has gained international success.  The band's first album All We Know Is Falling was released in 2005, and since then they have toured extensively. She was born on December 27, 1988 in Meridian, Mississippi.

Rumer Glenn Willis is an American actress. She is the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and has appeared in many of her parents' movies, such as Now and Then (1995) and The Whole Nine Yards (2000). Both of her parents have remarried, making her the step-daugher of Emma Heming and Ashton Kutcher. She was born on August 16, 1988 in Paducah, Kentucky.
